Florida at a structural crossroads.
In June 2021, the Champlain Towers collapse killed 98 people in Surfside, Florida. The state responded with Senate Bill 4-D, mandating structural and milestone inspections for buildings across the state. The engineering capacity to meet this demand does not yet exist.
